Problem with Radial Menu
Author: Ethan Ortega
The development team was experiencing compiler errors with the main player blueprint. When the radial menu was integrated with the main character there were points where it would work and allow the developers to compile and run the game while other times it threw compiler errors. The radial menu was deemed inconsistent and with the number of items we planned to integrate into our game, we felt like it was not worth the issues it was causing. Also, this was the second time the radial menu caused compiler issues. The widgets for the radial menu were disappearing for some of the developers. To combat this issue I decided to scrap the radial menu. With the very few gadgets we plan to incorporate into our game, it makes more sense to make the switching a toggle instead of a radial menu. I went ahead and changed the gadget switch to a button toggle where the UI image would update to show what gadget the player currently has equipped. Keeping the system simpler for the player while also not complicating the system since there isn't much incorporated with it was just deemed the better option as opposed to the radial.
